The Safety and Security Volunteer Team
The Safety and Security Volunteer Team assisted in ensuring that the Canoe Journey 2012 was safe, including traffic control, campground monitoring, emergency communications, and other aspects of event security.
Hours and Location
The Safety and Security Volunteer Team worked in 4-hour shifts beginning Sunday, July 29 through Sunday, August 5. Safety and Security Volunteers checked in at the Volunteer Center before starting work.
Cultural sensitivity awareness training was required for all volunteers. In addition, training was required for some Safety and Security positions.
Early submission of application documentation was encouraged.
